The idea: shortly after finishing, you attempt to re-register and pay for the NCLEX again through your Pearson VUE account. What happens next is interpreted as a signal:

• "Good pop-up": the system blocks you with a message that you can't re-register because you have recent, open registration — supposedly meaning the result is being processed as a pass.
• "Bad pop-up": the system lets you proceed toward payment and re-scheduling — supposedly meaning you're eligible to retake, i.e., a fail.

Why it works sometimes — and fails other times

The PVT is really just observing your registration state during the brief window before results post.
