  • A false, fixed belief. Nothing sensory.
  • Paranoid, grandiose, somatic, jealous, persecutory
  • Do not argue, do not agree

📌 Hallucination — Nothing There

  • A sensory experience with no stimulus
  • Order of frequency: auditory, visual, tactile
  • Command hallucinations = safety emergency

📌 Illusion — Something Is There

  • A real object, misread
  • A cord seen as a snake, a shadow as a person
  • Fix the lighting and the noise

📌 The Exam Cue

  • ‘Nothing there’ → hallucination
  • ‘Something there, read wrong’ → illusion
